Tiles | Canvas is a site-specific project that is based on deconstructing the space and keeping all the parts in it. By removing the tiles, the guts of the building are exposed, creating a new dimension in the space, the void.
This work is a commentary on painting since the ceiling tiles look like canvases that are painted with light. Shadows and shades of color are all part of the work.
Overall, the project raises the questions of material vs. immaterial, physical vs. ephemeral and permanent vs. temporary.
